Masters Athletes: Ready for 2025?
As a Masters athlete, your goals might look a little different. Balancing recovery, longevity, and peak performance is critical—and it’s exactly what we’ve built Bolder Athlete to support.
Here’s how we make training smarter, not harder:
Age-Specific Programming: Tailored intensity and volume for Masters athletes to thrive without overtraining.
Integrated Recovery: Strategic sessions to boost stamina and keep you fresh.
Strength + Skill: Building strength, refining gymnastics, and mastering transitions under fatigue—all essential for the Open and Semifinals.
If you’ve struggled with programs that don’t take your needs as a Masters athlete into account, we invite you to try a different approach.
Introducing the Surge Training Cycle
Our Surge Training Cycle is designed to elevate your game for both the CrossFit Open and Semifinals. Here’s what you can expect:
Phase 1: CrossFit Open Prep with a Semifinals Twist
Dates: January 6 – February 24, 2025
Engine + Efficiency: Build your capacity with Open-style workouts (think thrusters, burpees, gymnastics) while staying smooth and efficient.
Semifinals Complexity: Advanced skills, heavier barbells, and longer time domains to prepare for what’s next.
Skill Refinement: Nail transitions and move confidently under fatigue.
Recovery Focus: Incorporate aerobic machine work and deliberate recovery sessions to stay energized.
Phase 2: Semifinals Peak Performance
Dates: March 3 – March 31, 2025
Heavy Barbell Work: Focus on squats, Olympic lifts, and pressing to handle Semifinals loads.
Volume Gymnastics: Practice muscle-ups, rope climbs, and high-rep sets under competition fatigue.
Event Simulations: Test your pacing and execution with full-event practice.
Durability Training: Balance power and endurance for sustained performance.
