At 38, I was a former wedding photographer, psychotherapist, and poker player who couldn’t run a mile. Now, at 49, I’m a 5-time CrossFit Games Masters Champ, fresh off an unofficial Semifinals win, chasing number six. But the real win? My Why: Masters Are the Heartbeat
I started CrossFit out of shape and out of options. I wasn’t a kid, and I didn’t have a fancy athletic resume. But I found a spark in this sport that didn’t care about my age—it cared about my grit. That’s why, after three Games titles, I launched Bolder Athlete in 2023. I was tired of seeing Masters sidelined by big training platforms, feeling beat up or overlooked. You deserve better—a program that gets you, builds you up, and keeps you in the game for life. That’s my legacy, and it’s why I’m all in.
The Big Move: Expanding Bolder Athlete
Athletes spoke, and we listened. Feedback from our Bolder Athlete 2025 survey was clear: give us more ways to train, from beginner to elite. So, on May 12, we rolled out the Scaled Track—our seventh track—designed for anyone nervous about diving into CrossFit’s intensity. It’s all about nailing the basics, like scaled squats or lighter dumbbell work, so you can build confidence and grow. Whether you’re new, coming back from a break, or just want a gentler start, this track’s for you.
